Hope in the Community

ENCOMPASS MINISTRIES

Hope is proud to be part of Encompass Ministries, which supports the unhoused in our community. In collaboration with other churches and neighborhood donors, we work to fill essential needs—food, hygiene products, clothing—for those experiencing homelessness. Each week, we gather to prepare food, drinks, and hygiene kits, sort clothing, and deliver these items at different locations.  Please contact our front office to learn how you can get involved.

REBECCA’S CIRCLE

Rebecca’s Circle is a study group that meets on the first Monday of each month, except holidays, from 10:30 a.m. to noon. The group’s Bible study follows the Gather magazine, published by Women of the ELCA, which offers articles, theological reflections, devotions, and stories to inspire faith and ministry. Participants bring their own lunch, and dessert is provided afterward.

FIRST FRIDAY BREAKFAST

Join us for First Friday Breakfast at Sara’s Kitchen, 1595 Franklin Street in Santa Clara. We meet on the first Friday of every month at 9:00am to enjoy good food and company. Everyone is welcome.

SCOUTING AMERICA—TROOP 74

Scout Troop 74 meets every Monday evening from 7:00pm to 8:00pm in Knudsen Hall. The troop has been part of Hope since 1956, the same year Hope was founded. FAIR TRADE MINISTRY

For over 25 years, Hope Lutheran has partnered with Equal Exchange to support fair trade and small farmers. By ensuring stable prices for coffee, tea, and chocolate, we help farmers worldwide withstand market fluctuations. This stability enables them to form co-ops and invest in teachers, hospitals, and community infrastructure. Equal Exchange also collaborates with farmers to promote organic and sustainable farming practices.
